The Annual General meeting Of our Organization was held on April 6th, 07.
Over 50 members were present for this meeting. There were few important
resolution were passed and new Board members were elected. There was enthusiasm
and interest from Younger members to join the board.
Mr. Azim Parekh, Mr. Ahmed Amin Saleh and Mr. Salib Vania are first time
committee members and we welcome and wish them all the best. We Hope this will
attract more youngsters to come and join and take this organization to new
heights, and serve the community.
As we are dedicated to serving the community in every way we can, we will be
glad to get your input on how to better serve the community. Our goal is to help
our future generation in getting good education and better life. We also need to
address the issue of helping our older citizens who will need community care and
support. Some day all of us will need support in making a better community life
in latter days.
We also assist in humanitarian work worldwide, which as Muslims is our duty
and will pave a way for better life here after. May Allah give us strength and
resources to fulfill our commitments. You Donations, Zakat and Fitra goes
towards good causes.
The issue of making one international committee to look after affairs in
Kholvad by joining with MAIK of South Africa, Reunion and UK was also approved.
This will help in making our task easier.
There was also discussion on having Women and Girls involved in the community
work within Kholvad House. More will be discussed in the new committee and will
be presented to AGM next year.
Please come join us and help build a better tomorrow for us here. If we pull
together, we can achieve a lot more for our community needs.

anniversary year)

We thank all our brothers and sisters
from overseas who came to join in the celebration and Local Kholvadians for
supporting us. We Also Thank our sponsors, who will be listed here with
their business logos and telephone numbers soon.

We have few confirmed guests attending
our Silver anniversary function. There will be reps from South Africa,
Reunion, UK and India. Please join us to welcome these guests and show our
hospitality. There are 14 persons, including Men, Women & Children coming
from Reunion, 7 Persons will be coming from South Africa. One or More from
India.
- Kholvad House of Canada's 25th Anniversary party was a
resounding success with over 650 people in attendance. The fun was unmatched
and everyone had a great time. Our Overseas Guests and local MP, MPP and
other dignitaries were delighted by our efforts. We had dinners & Meetings
with our guests for almost a week.
- The guest list includes:
Mr. Gulambhai Aref & Anisa Aref, Ms. Sarah Bhaila, Mr. Shabbir Cajee, Mr.
Babu Pahad & Mrs Amina Pahad, Mr. Suleman Bhabha & Mrs. Rokaya Bhabha and
Mohamadi Chhotabhai from South Africa.

Mrs. Farid Patel, Mr. Iqbal & Asma Patel, Mr. Anyl Kassou and Mrs. Aisha
Kassou & Their Son, His Mother Mrs. Kassou. Mr. Ibrahim Patel, Mr.
Ismail Locate & Mrs. Abeda Locate & Her sister Yasmin (Mauritius), and Mr.
Ilyas Locate from Reunion.
- Mr. Ismail Dangor &
Mr. & Mrs. Gulambhai Teli from UK & Mr. Mohamed Kara from India.
- The Kholvad sports
club AGM was held on November 28th. Mr. Suhel patel was elected President of
the club and Mr. Salim Patel was elected as the First division Captain and
Faruk Dasu was elected as The second division Captain for the 2005 season.
- Congratulations
to Huzaifah Yusuf Amin Dasu
for becoming youngest Hafizul Quran in our Community. He is only 10 years
old and finished this feat under two years. A great Achievement for some one
his age. Mubarak to his proud parents on Behalf of Kholvad House of Canada &
the community.
- Kholvad First division
looses again: The jinx
of defeat in the playoffs came back to haunt the first division team again.
First division team Qualified for the
Play-Offs by finishing second in the group, But faltered again in the
Semifinals & lost to long time rivals Vikings, who won the final to be
champions.

Mr. Ebrahim Patel (Malgas), the former Sarpanch of
Kholvad Passed away in Kholvad in This holly Month of Ramadan. May Allah's Bless
his soul and forgive him.

With great regret we inform
the community of passing of Mrs. Zulekha Variawa(Vania), Mother of Shabbir
on Saturday, 16th of September, 06 @ Kholvad. May Allah forgive her and give
her family sabr. Our condolences are with the family.

There was Flood in River Tapti on August 7,
06 and lasted for few days. The water affected all low lying areas of
Kholvad and there was damage to Businesses and homes. Most of Surat and
surrounding area was under water. Luckily no one lost life in Kholvad, but
other places like Rander had casualties. We collected donations and have
send the funds to help the needy in surrounding areas.

Grand son of Mariam (Gori) Jassat (Sheikh), (Son of Yakub Sheikh And Grand Child of Shahina Bhai Kara) who was born premature few days ago, passed away
on July 31, 06. Make Duwa for the parents to deal with their loss.

We had a great outdoor party on the
lake in Whitby. People of all ages had fun, specially the kids who never got
tired of jumping on blow up castle. Adults and young people participated in
tug of war, Kabaddi, Mogri and just enjoying the outdoor activities. Close
to 500 people attended the party, which ended with a short indoor function
with entertainment. There will be more to come for all in future.

We are starting an investment club
which is already in motion. If you are interested in investing small amount
of money, please contact us. There is a limit to the number of members and the
preference will be given on first come first serve basis. Please call or
write to us. This investment club will be for your benefits, where you will
gain some investment knowledge and likely will be rewarded with return.

We are also setting Kholvad Investment
group, which will invest long term in real estate. We ar already looking in
to potential properties for investment. Please contact any member by phone

I thank all who called me from India,
South Africa and England to convey their condolences to me and my son when
my wife passed away. It was comforting to hear from so many people.

We regret to announce the death of Mr. Hashimbhai Vawda Father of Zain and Moosa (our treasurer), after a lengthy
illness. He passed away today(March 18th,06) in Kholvad where he went for
treatment three weeks ago. May Allah Forgive him and grant him Jannat

It is with great sadness we announce
the death of Tahera Mullabhai, Wife of Ilyas and Mother of Arshad, passed
away on March 7th, 2006 in Toronto. May Allah forgive her & bless her soul. Ameen. Please pray for
her that Allah give her a best place in Jannat.

Ayaz Patel (33years), Son of A. Kader
Patel and Son-in-law of Yunus Pandor, Passed away and was buried today
(November8th,05). Our sincere condolences and sympathy to his Family. He leaves
behind three little children. May Allah Bless his soul and give his young family
strength to deal with the loss.

Haseena Patel (Haseena Teli) Passed
away in UK after long sicknessOn Wednesday Oct. 19. 05. May Allah bless her
soul and. Our deepest Sympathy to the Family here and In UK.

Mrs. Bhayat(Bibikhala), Ustad Bhayat
saheb's wife passed away on Octomer 13th, 05. Our duuwa and prayers are with the family

Bera Khota's Daughter) Passed away on June 2nd in Kholvad. May Allah Bless
her.

(May 2005).

13 month old son of Jamil & Zaibunnisa
Mulla (Grandson of Gulam Mulla & Suleman Kara) Passed away by falling from
Balcony in tragic accident.
Funeral was held On Sunday 8th May.

Khala passed away on March 18th, 2005 in Kholvad.
2004:
- Abdul hamid Khote, Brother of Khalid Saheb
Khote and Yusuf Khote (KAKA) Passed away In Kholvad after a short illness.
May Allah Bless his soul. From Kholvad house of Canada, our sincere
sympathy to family members.
- The pioneer of Kholvadian
community in Canada, Mr. Ahmed Hanif Khote passed away on November 6th, 2004
(22nd of Ramadhan) after a lengthy illness. May Allah Bless his Soul and
forgive him in this holly month of Ramadhan. On Behalf of Kholvad House of
Canada and all Kholvadian, our sincere condolences goes to his family. We
share your grieves and your sorrows.
- He was the first one
to Emigrate to Canada from Kholvad in 1968. After which the flood gates
open for Kholvadians and other communities. A simple man well liked by
everyone who knew him. I will always remember him for his good work and
friendly nature. He was always willing to help others and never said no to
anyone. The fun loving Ahmed Saheb as he
was known, will always be remembered for his friendly nature by the
community here in Canada as well as in UK, South Africa, Reunion and
Kholvad. We will cherish him in our Memories forever. He will be missed not
only by all Kholvadians but all others who knew him. He was well known & Respected in
Toronto among all Gujarati communities. It is hard to accept the fact
that he is not among us anymore. I have lost a good friend. Fond memories of
him will always be with me. It is very sad that he is taken away from us so
soon. May Allah give him a very high place in Jannah.
- (Tribute by Ilyas
Mulla). Mr. Ahmed Saheb
was laid to rest on Sunday, November 7th, 2004 at Pickering Cemetery. His
funeral was attended by about 600 people, Young and Old, Kholvadians and
Non-Kholvadians. It was a special tribute to this very popular man. He will
be missed by all who knew him. He has left a mark on our community, which
will be there for ever.
- Another sad news to
report as Mother-in-Law of Moh. Taher Khote has passed away on Wednesday,
November 10th, 2004. May Allah bless her soul. She was known as Badi Boo and
lately was ill for a while. We share your pains and sadness.
- Mr. Safi Lala,
husband of Fatemabibi Teli(daughter of Suleman Teli), Passed away in Surat
on December 31st, 04 after brain hemorrhage. May Allah forgive him.
- Mr. Yusuf
Mohamed (Chamadia), Husband of Baba(Fatema) Ghanchi, (Brother-in-law of
Ghanchi brothers) Passed away on October 24th, in London, UK. May Allah
Bless his soul in this holly month.
- Mr. Dawood Bhutt Father
of Fatema Dadhi & Sabera Mullabhai Passed away on September 9th, 2004 in
Kholvad. He was 89 years old. May Allah Bless him and Give him a better
place in Jannat. Please make Duwa for him.
- Kholvad House of South
Africa has their new website. There is a short over 100 years of history of
their organization on the website.
